October at GO was a month filled with activity and fun, and opportunities for our expansive community to come together.
Seymour Show
Starting from the very beginning of the month, the team kicked things off by visiting the Seymour Show. Always a favourite event on the GO Calendar, the Seymour Show is a chance to explore local agriculture, craft, games, and community groups, all at King's Park across a fun-filled 3 days. This year, we had a record number of GO participants enter the Seymour-Show Off, and to great success! We had a number of winners across the different creative categories. Huge congrats to everyone who got involved!

GO ART Calendar
The 2026 GO Art Calendar continues selling to raise money for GO Art this month -- to keep our artists in materials for another year of creativity. Each page features beautiful artworks from our participants. Get yours today by visiting 16-18 Station Street, Seymour, or by following the link below to purchase online:

Valley Sport All-Abilities Carnival
After last month's postponement of Valley Sport's All-Abilities Carnival, we were super excited to finally head up to Shepparton to take part in this awesome event. On the day, everyone had the chance to participate in footy, and netball, and in cheering on our teams! Whatever your ability, there is opportunity for everyone to get involved in sport, get competitive, get a bit of exercise and have fun with friends. Thanks to Valley Sport for having us again this year. We truly had a blast!

Carer's Week
In October, GO celebrated Carer's Week by inviting all GO carers to an afternoon tea in celebration of their often behind the scenes work supporting the Biggest Lives Possible of their loved ones. We had a great afternoon talking all things caring and discussing ways we can improve the experience of carers at GO. Thanks to all who attended!

AGM
October also marked GO's Annual General Meeting, a little earlier than usual, this year's AGM was no doubt bigger and better than ever. As always, we heard a fantastic presentation from our GO Literacy Group and Participant Voice Committe all about what makes their Biggest Lives. We also saw a record number of service awards given out. After feedback received last year, we introduced Participant Service Awards in 2025 to recognise GO participants who have been attending our service for record years. Over 50 awards were given in total to all staff, volunteers and participants reaching a milestone. We also award Bev Edwards with a Life Member award for over 35 years volunteering with GO! What an achievement, and what a community! We couldn't be prouder!
