Goulburn Options is proud to offer our participants opportunities for Short Term Accommodation (STA), Medium Term Accommodation (MTA), and Supported Independent Living (SIL).

Short Term Accommodation

Sometimes held out of our Independent Living Units located right here in Seymour, or in cabins, motels or other local accommodation facilities, STA (also known as respite) programs can support you to build your Independent Living Skills.

 

Stay overnight or a few days and complete any activities of your choice! During STA supports, many GO participants choose to go shopping, go out for dinner, cook their own dinner, visit hair and nail salons, attend special events, see shows, and explore their local areas.

STA programs are designed to support you to access the community and recreational activities, as well as build up your independence, your social and interpersonal skills and communication, and your confidence!

Medium Term Accommodation

Medium Term Accommodation supports are designed to see participants through a transitional phase, often as they move from one setting to another.

 

For example, if you're moving out of your family home for the first time, and into another permanent accommodation, you could be supported in MTA for up to three months! During this time, GO support workers can assist you to develop your independent living skills, daily routines, and interpersonal communication to help you work through this big change!

Supported Independent Living

Supported Independent Living is a bit different from STA and MTA supports. In SIL, participants are supported 24/7, 365 days in their own permanent accommodation. SIL supports enable each participant to live as independently as possible based on their individual needs, and capabilities. These supports are capacity-building and designed to work towards you specific NDIS goals. These supports may also include an inactive or active overnight component.

Learn and be supported to manage your own household, do your own shopping, organise your own schedule and host your own visitors. In SIL, as in all Goulburn Options Supports, you are in full control!
