There's been SOOO much happening in August, so much in fact, one blog post isn't nearly enough room to capture it all, but we're sure going to try!
Welcome Ruby!
At the beginning of August, GO welcomed our new Accommodation and Living Practice Leader - Rupinder (Ruby) Kaur. Ruby has hit the ground running and is a brilliant addition to our team. She is working closely with Team Leader Jaimie and getting to know all our A&L Participants.
Museum of Chinese Australian History
This month, GO participants studying in The Centre's Ability Me Program headed into Melbourne to visit the Museum of Chinese Australian History as part of their culture module. The crew had such an amazing time learning about this part of our collective history in the colourful, interactive museum space.
NDIS Bill Passes
Big news in the NDIS Space this month as the National Disability Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026 passed through parliament. The goal of this bill is to make the NDIS more sustainable; strengthen safeguards and make sure the NDIS is around for future generations. The passing of this bill includes some big changes down the line for all people in the sector. GO will be keeping a close eye on developments as they are rolled out and are actively communicating with participants and families.

Here We GO Again
Another huge thank you to Broadford Secondary College for hosting GO participants as your very first matinee performance for this year's production: Mamma Mia!
Our guys couldn't have had more fun! Your shows are always such a highlight for us, and this year's show was simply outstanding!

Strategic Planning
Right through July and August the GO Board has been undertaking some serious planning as we develop our 2026-2030 Strategic Plan. Planning has involved lots of consultation with families, participants, association members and staff, as well as workshops with Sam Archer from Curious & Curious Leadership. We're now in the final stages, and look forward to presenting our future plan at the 2026 AGM in October. Stay tuned for more information!
Seymour Rotary Presentation
Holly and Hannah this month hosted Seymour Rotary Club at our Station Street Art Studio and offered up a presentation all about their art practices, their individual goals and work with Goulburn Options. We couldn't be prouder of the duo, who showed outstanding confidence and poise during their presentations. Thank you to Seymour Rotary for the visit!
GO Performing Arts
An outstanding program development as of late has been the CAPTIVATING productions coming from GO Performing Arts. Dramatic readings, skits and performances, the crew have been publishing videos, one after the next, over on GO's Instagram and Facebook. Be sure to check them out! In August the team took on Harry Potter. In September, viewers can expect SHREK! and some hilarious comedy sketches.
Biggest Life Possible Awards
As always, our GO Workforce has been kicking goals and making us proud of the amazing team we're so lucky to work with everyday. This month, our Biggest Life Possible Award Winners were: Carly, Shrawan, Gaylene, Kaitlyn and Michelle F.
The World According To....
Exciting news! This month, GO Artist James Jones has been preparing for and advertising his first ever solo show! Join us on Saturday 12th September at 16-18 Station Street, Seymour for 'The World According To...' and celebrate this amazing achievement!
